THE MAKING OF "A STORIES QUILT"
KICK-OFF RECEPTION/EXHIBIT
March 18, 2025
San Diego History Center
at Balboa Park

In October 2019, the 1619 National Celebration of Black Women hosted an
exhibit at the Women's Museum of California. Visitors were invited to reflect on their experiences as Black women and girls, or to share family stories by creating images and narratives on colored fabric that celebrate the beauty, resilience, and achievements of Black women and girls who defied the odds and emerged victorious.

These pieces of fabric are the making of the 1619NCBW "A Stories Quilt"
